Avoid and escape, that’s how we usually face our negative experiences from the past or traumas. So today I want to do something differently. I want to open and explore what kind of feelings and thoughts I carried during that time. Are there any changes that could be done? Instead of pushing it away, maybe we could embrace it and remake the memories? Or celebrate it by adding new values? Or maybe rethink the whole thing of having those negatives in your life, is it because you can’t accept the “imperfections” ?

And just like the first tooling project we’ve done, I want to rethink the purpose of each thing, object, or anything that happened in my life. Using my garment as a platform, to sort of repair my mental statement. And not just for myself, I want my wearers/audiences to see and feel their “wounds” or any feeling of emptiness could be taken care of. Not to be fixed, but to rethink. So my designs should be interactive and personal to myself and the wearer, because I want everyone to re-feel everything and re-think about it. I will be including a lot of handcrafts and hand sewing techniques into my designs. And to add additional personal touch, I will be experimenting with textile techniques like fabric printing and felting.

In addition, talking about repairing, I also want to experiment with breaking the traditional use of the fabrics, for exsoft fabrics like chiffon or knit to make structured jackets/pants, and harder fabrics like wool to make flowy garments like tops/skirts.
